The Fellowship of the Rings was a kind of boring book especially in the beginning, but as the book went on it got better. The middle was really the best. Some parts of the book dragged on for like 4 pages conveying a message that could have been said in as few lines or at least 1 page, and there were songs that were like 3 pages front and back and that was annoying. Also there were so many different places, worlds, languages (like the language of the old etc.), and people to keep track that it was really hard to understand what was going on that was also a downside to the book. But you could see that the author was very creative when writing the book because he kind of came up with his own language. The book was nice to read, but it could have had more suspense. You could usually predict what was going to happen and you knew that certain characters wouldn't die even if it looked like they were going to. The book was good even though the beginning was boring and slow, but all books are like that in the very beginning. I think I will read the next book to it.
I learned that in life there will always be bad people, but there will also be some good people, also that people will do bad things for power; I also see people always want power even if it's over something small they still would want it. Someone else who reads this might get the message of how corrupting power is because they would see how people got the ring, saw what power the ring had, and then used the power for wrong things. They would also see how the people would never want to give up the Ring and fight others for it. They would also see how hard it was for the wielder of the Ring to resist using it in time of danger or other bad/uncomfortable situations. They would see how someone killed there friend for the power and Sauron has killed many and destroyed realms to get the ring so he can be the most powerful. They also might see the message of the inability to prevent the downfall of the Middle-Earth because Sauron has taken most of the land and is getting stronger with only a few countries/kingdoms left to try to defend themselves and the rest of the other kingdoms like the Shire against Sauron it seems like they will be destroyed in little time.
